We hear the phrase "player development" a lot, but what, exactly, does it mean? This phrase implies that the needs of the child should be placed above the needs, and self-interest of the adults. True player development focuses on the development of the player, not just the team.

Coaching young children is more than just being able to demonstrate fundamentals. It requires knowledge of how children learn and understanding of their needs, cognitive, physical, and emotional stages of growth.
